By using the Site and voluntarily submitting information through the Site, you consent to FACo’s collection, use, sharing, and maintenance of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection

In the course of providing financial products and services, we collect and maintain certain identifiable business information, such as name, email address, phone number, state of residence, and information about the assets of the borrower, from website visitors when they voluntarily provide such information to Finance of America. We may receive this information when a borrower applies to one of Finance of America’s lending programs, or when an individual becomes an affiliate broker; applies to be a Finance of America Referral Partner; or communicates directly with us via email, mail, phone, or feedback forms. Some of the information we collect may be sensitive, such as individuals’ Social Security Numbers and dates of birth. Finance of America will only request this information if needed to provide the requested product or service, and Finance of America will only use it for the limited purpose(s) for which it was collected.

In addition, as part of the Finance of America due diligence process, borrowers may be required to submit additional documentation, including organizational charts of the proposed borrower entity; filed articles of organization/certification of formation/articles of incorporation; and other written documentation. This documentation may contain identifiable business information of individuals associated with the borrower. Finance of America may also collect information offline from a variety of sources, such as credit reporting agencies, and combine this information with information collected through the Site.

Finance of America may also collect non-identifiable information. Non-identifiable information may include, among other things, the time and date of visits to the Site; browser type and version, and the pages viewed on Non-identifiable information may be collected through various technologies, such as cookies, eTags, web beacons, or log files. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, however, you may set your browser to refuse cookies although certain features of this Site might not work without cookies.

Information Use & Sharing

When a borrower applies to one of Finance of America’s lending programs, the borrower will register at the Site and supply identifying and supporting information. This information may be used for different business purposes, such as to process the application, verify the identity of the borrower, and make eligibility determinations. Finance of America also may use any identifiable business information supplied during registration and application to provide the borrower with alerts and updates regarding its loan status; for internal recordkeeping; and to market Finance of America products when permissible to do so.

Finance of America may also supply the information provided, on a confidential basis, to affiliates (including The Blackstone Group L.P. and its affiliated companies), service providers, and other third parties such as title companies, appraisers, and credit reporting services who may assist Finance of America in qualifying, processing, closing and servicing Finance of America’s lending programs; determining borrower eligibility for Finance of America’s lending programs; and use for our own marketing purposes. Identifiable business information also may be shared:

  • As part of a sale or merger of all or part of Finance of America, including at bankruptcy;
  • Pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process;
  • To investigate, respond to or resolve problems or inquiries (including law enforcement requests) or protect, enforce or defend our rights, assets and/or interests;
  • To prevent or respond to a violation of any law, regulation, or our Terms of Service;
  • As permitted by law.

Finance of America may use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. IP addresses are also used to gather broad demographic information and are stored as a partial identifier. We use

Finance of America may partner with ad networks and other ad serving providers (“Advertising Providers”) who serve ads on our behalf and others on non-affiliated sites. Some of those ads may be personalized based on an individual’s online activities, meaning that they are intended to be more relevant to users based on information Advertising Providers collected about visits to the Finance of America Site and elsewhere over time.
